New Bee NB-L1 Lightning Earphones Perfect for the iPhone 7! – A Review
New Bee NB-L1 – Comes with a remote and mic, perfect Lightning earphones for the iPhone 7
The New Bee NB-L1 that I got on Amazon turned out to be pretty good so here’s the review
I wrote about how I’m using the EarPods recently.
There are a few things that I found out after weeks of use.
Noise isolation isn’t too good, even with the EarSkinz on.
That’s not always a bad thing, it’s safer when walking outside and it’s not much of an issue if you just want to play music in the background.
However, recently I’ve been listening to Podcasts more than music and in this case, I want to be able to hear the words clearly or else I wouldn’t be able to understand the content.
So I went to Bic Camera to look around for Lightning earphones that had a remote, mic and better noise isolation.
I tried out a couple of them but none of them stood out.
The radius HP-NHL21K has a DAC amp and works with an app that lets you change sound characteristics and that was pretty interesting but it was a little expensive.

The HP-NHL11 also had good sound but this was also over 10,000 yen.

These models with DAC amps built in had really good sound so I searched on Amazon to see if I could find one at a lower price.
That’s how I found the New Bee NB-L1.
Never even heard of the maker but I’ve been using it for three days now and it’s actually pretty good so here goes the review!

Functions
- mic
- remote
- lightning connector
It has the functions that the EarPod has.
The remote is placed lower, more towards the chest compared to the EarPods so it’s easier to use.
I tried the mic out with phone calls and the though your voice appears to sound further away than the EarPods and the mic picks up more surrounding noise, it gets the job done!
I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to use the earphones with the Quad Lock on, but it works perfectly.
This is due to the well thought out design of the Quad Lock.
As you can see from the picture, the area where the Lightning cable connects is carved out so the lightning earphones work without any issues.
Sound quality
Sound quality is pretty good!
The tone is more towards the higher end, so it’s not a heavy bass earphone.
The higher tone clarifies voices so I find it better for listening to Podcasts.
The sound stage of the EX800ST and EarPods is wider than the NB-L1 but it’s not that the sound stage is narrow on the NB-L1.
The sound has momentum so listening to music is going to be fun.
The sound isolation is also much much better than the EarPods!
Usability
The fit is good with the stock ear buds.
For me, I don’t have to worry about the earphones falling out of my ears.
The touch noise is really bad but if you put them on like Shure earphones, that takes care of the touch noise.
Putting them on like this, touch noise is not an issue even when jogging and they won’t fall out from your ears.
Summary
As for now, I am very satisfied with the New Bee NB-L1!
In terms of durability, only time will tell.
If you like using the EarPods but want better noise isolation, this might be the pair of earphones for you!
